Eligible individuals may request Deferred Disposition to prevent a violation from becoming a conviction.
Deadline
The request must be submitted by the 11th calendar day after the citation is issued.
Requirements
The full citation amount must be paid, and a deferral period of 60 to 180 days will be established. If all Municipal Court orders are complied with during the deferral period, the violation will not appear on the record.
1st Offense - No Insurance
Individuals requesting deferred disposition for a 1st Offense - No Insurance must provide current proof of insurance and maintain insurance coverage throughout the deferral period.
Under Age 25
Individuals under the age of 25 requesting Deferred Disposition for a moving violation must complete a Defensive Driving Course as a condition of probation, as mandated by Texas State Law.
Criminal Offenses & No Insurance Violations (2nd or 3rd)
A case must be scheduled in Municipal Court, and the request must be made before the Judge. For the exact fine and cost associated with the citation, please contact the Municipal Court.
How to Request
Deferred Disposition requests can be made via court [at] ci.crowley.tx.us (email), regular mail, or in person at the Municipal Court counter. Once processed, a Deferral Agreement will be faxed back.
