Overview
The Mission of the Parks & Recreation Board is to advise the City Council in the acquisition, development, improvement, equipment, and maintenance of all:
- Athletic fields
- Crouch Event Center at Bicentennial Park
- Other recreation facilities
- Parks
- Public playgrounds
The Parks & Recreation Board also recommends policies that will benefit and promote the leisure and recreational needs of the community.
Membership & Organization
The Parks & Recreation Board consists of seven members. Vacancies will be appointed by the City Council.
Meetings
Regular meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at City Hall located at 201 E. Main Street in Crowley.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Parks & Recreation Board shall review and make recommendations:
- About the five-year Capital Improvement Plan in its annual progress report summarizing its activities and accomplishments
- Concerning recreational activities on any of the properties controlled by the city
- Concerning the Parks & Recreation budget
- Relating to management of a public park and recreation program
- Relating to the conduct on public playgrounds, athletic fields, concession rights, and other recreation facilities and activities that employ the leisure time of the citizenry
