Overview
The Animal Shelter Advisory Committee was established in compliance with Chapter 23, Section 823.005, Advisory Committee, of the Texas Health and Safety Code. The committee ensures compliance with all state laws regarding animal shelters and control. It also provides advice and recommendations to the City Council on ways to improve the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality of the Crowley Animal Shelter.
The committee consists of five members who are appointed by the City Council and serve terms of two years. The committee will have as members at least one licensed veterinarian, one municipal official, one representative of an animal welfare organization, one animal control officer of the city, and one resident of the city. The committee holds at least three meetings a year, and they are posted on the City Bulletin Board and on the City Calendar.
