Office of Community Outreach

The goal of the Office of Community Outreach is to be a liaison between the residents of Crowley and the Crowley Police Department. The Community Liaison Officers are tasked with participating in community events and assisting in crime prevention throughout the city. The Office of Community Outreach oversees the Citizens Police Academy and the Citizens On Patrol program. In addition, the unit manages the following community programs:

  • Annual bike safety rodeo
  • Canned food drives and fundraisers for local food banks
  • Child EZ-ID fingerprinting
  • Citizens On Patrol
  • Coordinate parades and city activities
  • Crime prevention programs
  • Crime victims compensation
  • Guardian Program
  • Homeowner Association Liaison
  • National Drug Take Back Program
  • National Night Out
  • Participate in the training advisory board and Crime Control Prevention District meetings
  • Police Observer Program
  • Public information/media liaisons
  • Recruiting
  • School visits and talks
  • Speed trailer deployment
  • Tours of the department

Speakers for Gatherings

Our Community Liaison Officer is available to speak at community or business gatherings about crime prevention, personal safety, drug and alcohol awareness, stranger danger, and any law enforcement topic the organizer desires.
