CROWLEY, Texas (July 9, 2026) - As of 11:40 AM, the boil water notice for the City of Crowley has been lifted. Lab tests have confirmed that the water is safe for normal use, including drinking, cooking, and bathing. Out of an abundance of caution, residents may choose to flush household plumbing by running faucets for a few minutes and discarding any ice made during the notice period.

On July 8, 2026, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Crowley, public water system (TX 2200034) to issue a boil water notice to inform customers, individuals, and employees that, due to conditions that occurred in the public water system, the water was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking or human consumption.

The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed for drinking and human consumption and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results indicating that the water no longer requires boiling as of July 9, 2026.

FAQs

Here are a few suggestions for cleaning/sanitizing household items after a boil notice has been lifted:

Sinks/Tubs/Showers

Remove and clean faucet screens, clean, replace and run cold water for several minutes

Hot water tanks

Run hot water only at all faucets and flush until water runs cool

Water Filters

Replace filters. Water filters that are commonly used in refrigerators, faucets, and under the sink, etc. are not designed to remove the specific bacteria commonly present during boil water advisory. If you ran water through your filter during the boil water advisory, the filter could be contaminated.

Dishwasher

Flush hot water pipes and water heater, run empty dishwasher one time on the hottest or sanitize cycle, if there is one

Refrigerator

If your refrigerator doesn’t have a filter, flush dispensor by running 1-2 quarters of water through it.

Ice Machine

Discard ice, flush, clean and sanitize

Water Softeners

Run a complete flush cycle
