Job Summary

Under direction and supervision of the Senior Program Coordinator, the Senior Services Aide Driver supports the Senior Center through various operational duties, including customer service, daily operations, administrative tasks, and providing transportation services for patrons. This role requires frequent interaction with the public and may involve special projects as assigned by the Senior Program Coordinator.

Salary

$15.51/hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential functions may include any of the following duties, knowledge, and skills.   • Operate and oversee daily transportation shuttle services, providing rides from local residences to the Senior Center and other destinations
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on vehicles, including recording mileage, checking tire tread, monitoring fluid levels, and keeping the vehicle clean
  • Safely load and unload patrons, ensuring their safety and assisting with outreach duties as necessary
  • Refuel vehicles as needed
  • Notify the Senior Services Coordinator of any required vehicle maintenance or repairs
  • Assist in monitoring and supervising recreational activities at the Senior Center, with a focus on maintaining positive public relations with patrons, instructors, and participants
  • Support class registrations, room setups, money collection, clerical tasks, and data entry for activity scheduling
  • Assist Senior Center staff with various recreational needs and miscellaneous duties as required
  • Help with food service tasks, including bussing and cleaning tables, tearing down rooms, cleaning the kitchen, and emptying trash cans
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are an essential function of this job

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong ability to plan and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented

Education, Experience and Certification

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with senior citizens or in a related field
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid Texas class B driver’s license with a passenger endorsement is required with a good driving record (CDL)
  • CPR/First Aid certification or the ability to obtain within six (6) months from hire
  • Bilingual in Spanish, preferred
