Crime Control & Prevention District

Overview

The Crowley Crime Control and Prevention District (CCPD) was created as a special taxing district authorized by a vote of the residents.

The CCPD provides additional resources to assist the Crowley Police Department in combating crime problems and trends that result from growing populations.

  • Vehicle theft
  • Burglary
  • Gang graffiti and violence
  • Vandalism

Of primary focus are:

  • Reducing the fear of crime for residents and businesses of Crowley
  • Enhancing the quality of life for everyone
  • Contributing to the economic growth within the city

Duties

The CCPD Board is responsible for planning and budgeting for the one-half cent sales tax collection that was made available by the election. The CCPD also helps finance the crime control and crime prevention program for the city, including costs for:

  • Police personnel
  • Specialized equipment
  • Vehicles
