City of Crowley General Election 2020
2020 General Election Information
On March 18, 2020, Governor Greg Abbott signed a proclamation suspending Sections 41.0052(a) and (b) of the Texas Election Code, to the extent necessary, to allow political subdivisions to move their May 2, 2020 elections to the next uniform election date occurring on November 3, 2020. In the interest of the health and welfare of the citizens of Crowley, the City has determined it is best to postpone the May 2, 2020 General Election to November 3, 2020.
In accordance with Texas Secretary of State Advisory 2020-12:
1. Candidate filings received for the May 2, 2020 General Election will remain valid for the election held on November 3, 2020 and the filing period will not be re-opened.
2. All ballot orders actions will be preserved for the November 3, 2020 election (place on the ballot).
3.. All applications for ballot by mail (ABBM) for voters based on begin over the age of 65 or due to disability will still be valid for the November 3, 2020 election, but ABBMs submitted based on expected absence from the county for the May election, will not be valid for the postponed election.
The City's General Election will be held
The offices up for election are:
Council Member, Place 5, for a three (3) year term expiring May 30, 2023
Council Member, Place 6, for a three (3) year term expiring May 30, 2023
