The Community Development Department is responsible for developing programs to retain, expand, and attract both businesses and residential investments to the City of Crowley and to coordinate activities in conjunction with civic and public groups.
In March of 2007, the City Council of the City of Crowley passed Ordinance No. 03-2007-04 adopting the following Building Codes:
- 2006 International Building Code
- 2006 International Residential Code
- 2006 International Plumbing Code
- 2006 International Mechanical Code
- 2006 International Energy Conservation Code
- 2005 National Electrical Code
- 1997 Uniform Housing Code
- 1997 Uniform Code for Abatement of Dangerous Buildings
- 2006 International Fuel Gas Code
